The once sleepy fishing village is now the main township
of Langkawi. Although quite small there are a sufficient
number of shops and restaurants. Being close to the ferry
jetty, accommodation in Kuah has tended more towards 'hotel'

less expensive, offer value conscious travelers a way
to stretch their travel budget. |

And this January Malaysia celebrates Chinese New Year on 23 January. Gong Xi Fat Cai! We wish all our friends celebrating the Chinese New Year a very happy, prosperous and healthy Year of the Dragon. For those planning to visit Langkawi on or around 23 January be advised that all of Asia will be celebrating Chinese New Year and it is a national holiday throughout Malaysia. Being Monday there will definitely be a three day weekend and for some a four day holiday. As always Langkawi hotels are always fully booked on weekends, especially so for Chinese New Year this year. So if you're planning to visit around that time better best to book as soon as possible to get the hotel of your choice at the best possible rate.
